I have been wanting one of these to add to my collection for a while and for $67.66 tax and all it was worth every cent.I would love to have the 6 1/2 foot monster version from Ritter steel but can't seem to find a spare $700.00 laying around so I decided on this one instead. (And I'm glad I did.)Well on first impression, I was thinking I would need to return it because the box arrived looking like someone had played football with it. It had a huge gash on the side that someone had tried to cover with clear packing tape.I took my cutter and opened the end that had the pommel almost sticking through and pulled this beast out.Well I guess they know at SZCo that delivery people like to play football with their packages because, they had wrapped it really well in plastic and bubble wrap with a plastic tip gaurd and double bubble wrapped pommel so it survived the the game.(but the box lost horribly).Now...About the sword! It is beautiful, the guard is thick and looks great with the front and back rings. The pommel is big with a small spike that sticks out about a quarter inch. The leather on the sword is nice and tight and accents the whole sword very nicely. The blade itself is fairly thick towards the guard around 4-5mm and tapers a little at the point end. The blade itself is not at all sharpened but the point is. I bought a WEN 1/2 inch hand grinder/sander specifically for this blade and plan to get it shaving sharp in the near future, then I really will "pity the fool" who decides to invade my castle. (I guess the shotgun will be my bachup or vice versa). All in all a very well spent, small chunk of $$ to part with for a piece of history that looks so badass. Now that I have seen how nice this one is, the same company has another almost mirror twin that has a fancier scroll style guard that didn't have the best reviews as this one did so I am now thinking about rolling the dice on it as well. If it is this one's equal, it will be worth it. If not there is always the amazon return department just waiting for my call. Sounds like a win either way as I have also been keeping an eye on a sweet Witcher sword with my name on it too.Review byMichael James FoxBeavercreek, Ohio
