This is the perfect dagger to add to my renfaire costume!It was exactly what I was looking for.It actually exceeded my expectations.Is it sharp? No, not at all. It doesn't even have an edge - literally flat on the edges.It doesn't even really have much of a point.Could it be sharpened? Maybe, if you wanted to ruin it. It's soft low grade Chinese steel. All you'd get is a rough chewed up edge that would never hold or stay sharp after cutting an apple and it would look terrible forever after.The black grip is plastic, but with a nice aesthetic. Not much of a tang, if any at all. Metal pommel looks and feels sturdy, but I wouldn't say it's "battel ready" for stage or reenactment.The ridged scabbard is covered in a nicely done faux leather with well purposed metal accents.Why is it a great dagger?Because it's a costume dagger that's meant to look cool for display purposes only.And in this regard it's absolutely fantastic! It looks wonderful and has a nice bit of weight to it.This dagger is an excellent piece for someone who wants to enjoy life and have a little fun!If you're expecting a usable serviceable dagger for $15.00, you're in for a lifetime of disappointment...Seriously, reevaluate your expectations and do some research on quality surgical and high carbon steels.Then take a look at the rest of the materials that actually go into producing a moderately decent quality mass produced useable dagger. If you come up with a number less than $50 your math is wrong. Now if you want a top-of-the-line mass produced piece, your budget should be in the $100-$150 range or your wasting your time. If you are scoffing at my review, then don't even bother looking for a superb quality hand made piece, because such an item is probably way outside of your price range and would be wasted in your hands anyway.I love this costume accessory and will get many years of enjoyment from it.If you're looking for a nice accessory to add some spice to your LARP or renfaire costume, I highly recommend the SCZO Knights Dagger.Enjoy life and have fun!
