It looks exactly as pictured. It's super cute and colorful. My only issues were that it was crushed a bit in shipping, and I wish I had given myself more time to stretch it back out prior to using it. The hat has two small loops on the underside of each side of the brim for attaching. I used barrettes, but I suspect you could use a headband as well. My hair was back in a ponytail when I wore it, so it secured well and stayed in place. However, one of my kids with short hair wanted to wear it too, and nothing I did could make it stay in place using barrettes or bobby pins. So, plan ahead and don't wait to the last minute to decide how you'll keep it on if you buy it.
