The sword is sturdy, but lack of distal taper and fuller make it rather heavy. The finish is more rusty than rustic, so expect to clean it up a bit. it also doesn't come with a sheath and has little more than a starter edge. That said, for what I paid it's certainly a stronger blade than most of the stainless steel wall hangers out there. This isn't a bad deal for a real carbon steel blade, but if you want a battle ready blade, pay a little more for something with a lighter blade. Price is a big factor here, but you're going to have to put some work into it. Sanding, oiling, and sharpening can turn this into a very nice (albeit heavy) sword for a very low price.
