We bought these [Kamvas 12] for the grand-kids, who have been looking to upgrade their drawing and animation capabilities. Some people encounter difficulties with these kind of peripherals so we sent one to them and one to us - with the idea we'd send ours along once they were over the installation "hump" and didn't need advice from our experience. No need. Download and install the driver, connect the tablet, and everything is working. Download and install Krita and set the cursor to show pen tilt and that is working too. Windows 8.1 here, Windows 10 there. The hardware works, Krita (pro-level free(!) art software) works, though Krita is very powerful and has a significant learning curve for the uninitiated, which the kids seem up for, at least the older ones. Neither the drawing tablet nor Krita will make you an artist, but they both work right away and the rest is up to you.The effectively 12" diagonal display area is on the small side, though I think you'd have to go up more than an inch or two to gain much, while this size is handy, especially for kids or those who'll move it around often. Note that the tablet is considerably larger than the active display - there is a dead area framed around the active display that looks the same as the rest of the tablet surface - making one believe that the display should go out to the edge. Measure it, and you find that it is indeed the advertised size, with the tablet itself somewhat larger. This is visible in the product illustrations, but can look a bit odd when first seen "live". Unlike a phone, having the display go to (or over!) the edge is NOT an advantage when attempting to draw or paint with precision - you want an extended surface, identical in feel to the display, to rest the hand on when doing fine work near the display edge. The "dead" frame area provides some of that. Of course most any software, Krita definitely included, can zoom in and out, and pan, so that details can be worked on at any magnification desired.Recommended.When your new I think this is as perfect as you can get.For the price I don't think you could do better. It has extra features that you can use when you do become more advanced. Wide range for sensitivity settings. The feel of it feels of quality that they didn't cheap out on the parts.I wanted this for drawing and find it excellent. It can do so much more than just that.ComplaintsCables a little short but im spoiled by 12fters and will not dock a star for that. The pen i roll it around when drawing and keep pressing the button which was fixed by binding the button to something that did nothing. Which was easy with huion tablet app so also not docking a star. For same experience Adobe Photoshop 2021 is recommended. No me gusto que requiere de un PC para su funcionamiento, que no trae batería recargable por lo que requiere conexión permanente y no se llevar a todos lados. Demasiados cables para su conección al PC que estorban.Para principiantes no es fácil su uso inicial. It's a pretty good option if you're a beginner, honestly. The only thing I didn't enjoy a lot was the pencil (too soft). But for the price I can't complaint.Surprisingly good and im impressedIt's quite amazing, eazy to use and nice picture quality. I love the adjustable standOnly thing I have against it, is it lags with Paint Tool Sai. It works amazingly well with MediBang tho (free art program)I actually highly recommend itI could have spent a little more money and probably atleast gotten an art pad that is user friendly. This one is not.I was really satisfied with this tablet, but I'm disappointed with the pressure sensitivity. I'm not sure if it's just that I haven't figured it out on the driver but it doesn't seem to be present. I've counteracted this though simply by using a thinner brush. Aside from the pressure sensitivity I've loved every bit of it.I enjoy this tablet when it works....Oftentimes I have to disable my antivirus in order to use it, among other issues. (pen often doesn't work in Photoshop but does elsewhere, it's a strange issue that is pervasive and I always seem to solve the problem differently every time. It doesn't make much sense.)When it does work, it's great. This worked great the first time I used it. The second day I went to use it again and it says no signal. Won't let me restart it. Followed all of the trouble shooting steps, and still not working. Come to find out lots of people have been experiencing this problem when I searched it. None of the solutions worked for me. Really disappointing product.
